shutterstock_169482320It has been a long journey for everyone involved and after many months of planning and organising we are thrilled to finally announce our re-brand to the Scottish Energy Association. Each one of SEA’s Directors has remained tight lipped in keeping this a secret over the last year, including our Chief Executive, Hector Grant, and in this blog he shares with us his thoughts on what he feels the re-brand will bring to the association.

Formerly the Industrial and Power Association (IPA), the members all felt that now was the perfect time to change and re-brand, ushering in a new era for the association, something that the Chief Executive felt was key in making this decision.

He added, “The change of a name is a natural progression for the organisation as the leading membership association for energy in Scotland. It clearly and succinctly shows all stakeholders what the organisation stands for.”

In taking a new identity, Mr Grant looks to further SEA’s standing as being the go-to association for all matters concerning the energy industry in Scotland, “We represent the interests of a diverse range of organisations across the industry from those involved in financing, legal work, design, construction, maintenance, operation, research, development and supply.”

“We really are the voice of the Scottish energy industry and will continue with our highly regarded current services while also beginning to introduce new ones.”

The introduction of SEA marks the start of a new beginning for the association, Mr Grant went on to comment on what he hopes the re-brand will achieve, saying “The launch of our new name, Scottish Energy Association, heralds a new start, focusing on raising our profile and the support and representation of our members.”

“We are sure that this will be the start of a new phase in the twenty two year history of the organisation and look forward to growing our representation across the energy industry.”
