This month, we are proud to be celebrating our first anniversary, after re-launching as Scottish Energy Association last June. It’s been a very exciting year, as we welcomed new members and hosted and attended various events.
With many new members such as, DONG Energy, University of the West of Scotland, University of Glasgow, Swift TG, Shepherd & Wedderburn, Snell Bridge and Frazer-Nash Consultancy joining us, we are delighted to be working with over 40 organisations and sharing information across the industry.
Regular events also contribute to our knowledge sharing efforts and are also the perfect opportunity for networking and promotion. In March of this year we hosted our Power Scotland Conference, an event, which will celebrate its tenth anniversary next year. This conference welcomed delegates from across the industry and a host of speakers, who throughout the day discussed a variety of interesting topics, surrounding the main area of discussion; is ‘Reset’ pushing the right buttons?
In discussing the new energy policy, industry experts shared their knowledge of the current market and the requirement for a change in behaviour, in the interest of energy use and reduction, amongst other topics. The final session of the day welcomed representatives from each of the five main political parties to put forward their energy manifesto for the May election.
Other notable events include our regular knowledge exchange meetings with members and other organisations across the industry, which we host in venues across the country. We also recently exhibited at the All-Energy conference last month, where we were delighted to host a session on policy changes, with speakers from SEA members, RES, Doosan Babcock, Swift TG Energy, Mott MacDonald and Challoch Energy.
